From marine science to institutional strategy.
Institutions are designed for the conditions in which they are expected to operate.
When those conditions change, structures, governance and capabilities may no longer support what the organisation needs to achieve.

Blue-Green Advisors is publicly identified as a consortium partner in the UK Government’s Climate and Ocean Adaptation and Sustainable Transition programme.
The programme brings together ocean governance, climate adaptation, investment and institutional implementation across participating countries.
In January 2026, the Seafood Task Force publicly announced my appointment as Senior Consultant to support its strategic positioning and long-term agenda.
The appointment reflects work at the intersection of seafood systems, industry governance and institutional strategy.

The Regenerate Leap explores how leaders can respond when the assumptions supporting their previous approach no longer hold.
Drawing on marine systems, institutional experience and personal encounters with irreversible change, the book develops a framework for recognising what must end, building new capability and designing what comes next.
The Regenerate Leap draws on professional experience, ecological thinking and the author's experience of irreversible personal change. These experiences informed the development of the method; they do not constitute independent scientific validation.
The approach is organised around three connected disciplines:
I write about ocean governance, institutional strategy, organisational design and leadership under structural change.
Resilience concerns a system’s capacity to respond to disturbance, which may involve persistence, adaptation or transformation.
In The Regenerate Leap, regeneration is used as a practical leadership framework for situations where rebuilding the previous operating model is neither possible nor desirable.
The distinction helps leaders consider when adaptation within existing arrangements is insufficient and more fundamental redesign may be needed.
Blue-Green Advisors is Stuart's specialist ocean advisory company. The Regenerate Leap is his book and leadership methodology.
