I have spent thirty years at the point where ocean systems meet the institutions that are supposed to govern them. Three of those years were spent living and working with fishing communities on the Danajon Bank double barrier reef in the Philippines, and the decades since have gone on advising the boards of development banks, foundations, governments and a seafood collaboration turning over tens of billions of dollars a year.
Blue-Green Advisors is the firm I founded in 2017. It designs enforceable ocean and coastal strategy for governments, development banks, philanthropies and ocean-linked business, with governance, capital, technology and operations built as one system. Alongside it I advise boards and chief executives outside the ocean sector on the same problem, and I wrote The Regenerate Leap to set out the method.
